Syracuse Spartans Pitchers Jordan Goldmann and Nick Jessen were named NYCBL Breakout Players to Watch in 2023. 

Goldmann started as a reliever for the Spartans but slowly made his way to the starting rotation. The right-hander lit up the radar gun with 26 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched this season for the Spartans. He ranked second on the team with a 3.80 ERA.

Jessen flourished in his second season with the Spartans. The lefty led the Spartans with a 1.80 ERA. He had 25 strikeouts in 24 innings.
