The Syracuse Spartans dropped a resumed game to the Syracuse Salt Cats 3-2 at OCC on Friday afternoon.

The Spartans and Salt Cats originally started a doubleheader on Monday, July 15 before rain and lightning forced the postponement of the games. The first of those games was stopped with a 2-0 Spartans lead after two innings of play.

The Salt Cats immediately gathered a run in the third inning and took the lead with two runs in the sixth to take the 3-2 lead. The Spartans tried but failed to get anything going off Salt Cats pitcher Sam Peterson, who struck out six Spartans and left multiple runners stranded in scoring position to stifle the Spartans offense.

The next Spartans game is away at the Sherrill Silversmiths on Saturday, July 20. First pitch is set for 2:00 pm. The next Spartans home game is on Sunday July 21 against the Cortland Crush. First pitch is set for 2:00 pm.
