The Syracuse Spartans dropped to the Sherrill Silversmiths 14-4 in a run-rule on Saturday. 

Sherrill took the early lead with four runs in the first and three runs in the third. The Spartans mounted a small comeback with three runs in the top of the fourth. A RBI single from Matt Alexander, RBI groundout from Sammy Lee and RBI double from Tyler Campbell plated the runs for the Spartans. A solo home run from Andrew An plated another run in the top of the fifth. 

The Silversmiths however battled back with four more runs in the bottom of the fifth and two in the sixth to extend their advantage. Another run in the seventh ended the game via run-rule.

The Spartans will now play in the 4-5 NYCBL East Play-in game on Monday, July 22 against the Rochester Ridgemen to start the playoffs. Location of the game is yet to be determined.

The next Spartans game is on Sunday, July 21 against the Cortland Crush at home. First pitch is set for 2:00 pm.
