The Syracuse Spartans welcome a new coaching staff for the 2024 season. Eamonn Andre joins as the sixth head coach in Spartans history. He is joined by pitching coach Teaghin Andre and assistant coach Robert Johnston.

Andre, a graduate of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, has a degree in English communication with a concentration in public relations and minors in business administration and coaching. Andre was a four-year member of the Trailblazers, where he was named team MVP in 2017 with a 1.33 ERA. He holds school records in pitching appearances, with 19 in a season and 61 for his career. He also finished top-10 in career saves and for single-season ERA. Andre got his start in coaching in the New England Collegiate Baseball League as a pitching coach before becoming an assistant coach at his alma mater. During the summer, he was the associate head coach of the Vermont Mountaineers of the NECBL and was a pitching coach for the Westfield Starfires in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League as well as the Cortland Crush of the NYCBL. Most recently, Andre was the head assistant coach at MCLA, with his primary duties including being the team’s pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. Currently, Andre is the assistant at St. Lawrence University, where he is the recruiting coordinator as well as handling the pitchers,

Teaghin Andre played for four years at Framingham State. In his four years, Andre tossed 46.1 innings in 34 games. Andre’s best season came in the 2021-22 season, where he posted a 3.15 ERA over 20 innings and 15 appearances. Andre had a career-best 10.35 K/9 in 22. Along with baseball, Andre was a four-year member of the Framingham football team, where he was an offensive lineman who appeared in 24 games. Andre also has experience pitching for the Cortland Crush of the NYCBL, the Westfield Starfires of the Futures League and the Watertown Rapids of the Perfect Game College Baseball League. Andre will play his final year as a key member of St. Lawrence’s bullpen before he starts his journey into the coaching world.

Robert Johnston returns to the Spartans after featuring on the field for the team over the past two seasons. He played 64 career games with the Spartans, batting .261 with 29 RBIs. Johnston is currently a graduate student for Framingham State’s baseball team. He has played in over 100 career games with the Rams. In the 2023 season, Johnston batted .294 and finished second on the team in RBIs with 31. Johnston is a Watertown, Connecticut native.
