The Syracuse Spartans announced their first roster addition to the 2021 team on Tuesday. Outfielder Jackson Geisler returns to Central New York for a second season with the Spartans.
“Jackson was one of our most consistent players during the 2019 campaign,” said Spartans Head Coach Matt Michalski. “He never wanted a day off and showed up every day ready to play. He is a great guy to have around the team and we are very fortunate to get him back with us for another summer.”
Geisler batted .267 during the 2019 season for the Spartans and ranked second on the team with 39 hits. He also drove in 14 runs while committing no errors in the outfield for Syracuse. Geisler was the only player to play 40 games for the Spartans in 2019.
A Pittsburgh, Pa. native, Geisler is currently playing in his second season with NAIA program Union College in Kentucky. He has as .277 career average over 42 games with the Bulldogs. Geisler has 13 career RBIs with Union after transferring from Cincinnati Christian University.
