SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Spartans were unfortunately halted in the midst of their game today by an incessant thunderstorm. The game which was taking place on Ben Foster Night was off to a blast as the Spartans were cooking through the first two innings. Led by two doubles in the top of the 2nd by Tyler Gendron and Perry Chetney that would help propel the Spartans to an early 3-0 lead. Tragedy would then strike, literally, as lightning would disrupt the game in the top of the 3rd with only one down.
The storms did not let up leading to an unfortunate postponement of the game. Luckily the Rochester Ridgeman are back in town to face off against the Syracuse Spartans this upcoming Thursday, June 29th. The games will be played in a double header with the first pitch for both starting at 4pm EST.
We will also be continuing Ben Foster Night on Thursday with the raffle still set to be donated on that day. Stay tuned Spartans fans and come join us on what is set to be a spectacular day of baseball and some clearer weather!
