The Syracuse Spartans couldn’t figure out the Cortland Crush pitching as the Spartans fell 8-1 to Cortland.

The Crush turned around their fortunes to strike against the Spartans. After getting no-hit by the Syracuse Salt Cats on Friday, Cortland recorded 13 hits against the Spartans. Four runs in the third, a run in the seventh and three runs in the eighth gave the Crush the advantage they needed to see out the win.

On the flip side, Syracuse couldn’t quite figure out Cortland starter Carlos Rodriguez, who struck out a season high 13 batters. The Spartans brought home one run in the ninth on a wild pitch. Syracuse has yet to be shut out this season.

The next Spartans game is at OCC for a road doubleheader against the Syracuse Salt Cats on Monday, July 1. First pitch for game one is set for 5:00 pm. The next Spartans home game is on Wednesday, July 3 against the Cortland Crush. First pitch is set for 2:00 pm.
