The Syracuse Spartans welcome another returner to the 2021 season as Zac Legarretta rejoins the Spartans for another season in Central New York.
“Zac was another player who was determined to improve his game during the 2019 summer season,” said Spartans Head Coach Matt Michalski. “Zac is a very quick and athletic player who can play a variety of positions and do well. He has a very strong arm throwing across the diamond and he has improved his footwork up the middle. He is a baseball guy who is always willing to put in the extra work and it shows.”
Legarretta batted .250 in 34 games with the Spartans last season. He drove in 10 runs and joined Anthony May in the team lead for stolen bases with seven. The Visalia, Calif. native has batted .312 and drove in 24 runs over 48 career games in three seasons with Cayuga CC in Auburn, New York. Legarretta joins May and Jackson Geisler as the returning Spartans for the 2021 squad.
